I recently came across rumors of a new campaign for the BMW 1Series. It's primarily focused around a filmaker who travels to Bavaria to film a documentary about this village and their town festival - Rampenfest. Rampenfest is essentially a spoof of Octoberfest only there's a 454 meter high ramp. What's the ramp for? Thats the big (or not so big) secret of the documentary....




There are sooo many reasons this campaign is working... on brand, viral, many moving parts, engaging.... BUT for me this works because of the details. Not just the supporting parts like the blog, the Facebook page, or impressive CGI work but the details in casting, location and most importantly - the pretzels and plates. Yes. Pretzels and plates... watch the trailer and you will see. Details like this are the difference between well thought out campaigns that succeed or those that just seem to fade into oblivion.
