Kleenex's new summer series

TheDieline.com: "Perfect Slice of Summer" tissue boxes for Target

Under most circumstances I would say facial tissue is a fairly mundane and intentionally avoided topic. Let's face it, is tissue for your mucas factory really something that needs a lot of attention?

Kleenex has a slightly different opinion. They want to make blowing your nose something you crave. Godspeed Kleenex.

Mr. Toledano

Mr Toledano - Phillip Toledano Photography

If there is one thing you do with yourself this week, check out Phillip Toledano. He has a rare combination of seeing and telling stories in a way that will mesmerize you.

If you don't have time to explore all of them, I highly recommend "Days with my father"... brilliant piece of storytelling and photography.

The end of web-vertising as we know it

Micro Persuasion: The End of the Destination Web Era

Great article from Micro Persuasion about the end of the destination web. Now that Facebook is eating the internet, the concept of big brand sites and experiences is going the way of the carribou. For those of us in it, and paying attention, this is no big epiphany --- it's just really nice to hear someone else say it out loud (mmmm sweeet vindication).

On slightly more interesting note, the article points to another study by ARAnet that display media, like the destination site, is doing less than good. The research shows consumers preferring brand mentions in articles and even email for god sake over display media.

So what does all this mean?

1. The carribou are slowly disappearing into the wilderness.
2. Learn to maximize your Facebook strategy - either thru your brand experience or using the new set of API's..smartly.
3. Display media is not good. At least in it's current form, the "golden rules for success" in display media are quickly becoming antiquated... we need to innovate now.
4. The web is/has been one giant consumer/expert review panel for your product... grasp it now and ask your PR and Digital agencies to play nice.

Thats all for now. My soapbox is falling apart.

The latest in augmented reality from Jack Links Beef Jerky. Print out the sasquatch foot print, show it to your camera and go to town. Make your own movie with over 30 canned clips.

Yeah its supremely cool....but does it do what Jack Links wants? You decide with your wallet I suppose.
